Training Program on “Fibre Quality Evaluation and Grading System” 

A training programme on “Fibre Quality evaluation and grading” has been organized by ICAR-NINFET during 2-4th December, 2021. During the training program, BIS jute grading system using digital fibre testing instruments developed by NINFET was lively demonstrated for quality assessment of jute fibres. The impact of NINFETSathi - a retting accelerator on fibre productivity and quality was described during the program. The procurement and marketing strategies of jute were also explained to the trainees. 

Dr D. B. Shakyawar, Director ICAR-NINFET emphasized the importance of fibre quality evaluation for justice to the buyers & sellers and manufacturing jute diversified products. He also highlighted the need of training on instrumental grading of jute and allied fibre to technical personnel of industry and progressive farmers to rear benefit and enrich knowledge of stakeholders.  

Seventeen Managers from Jute Corporation of India and four senior officers from Directorate of Jute Development along with four participants from academic’s institute were participated in the program. 

The programme was coordinated by Dr Biplab Saha, Principal Scientist & Head and Dr Nageshkumar T., Scientist of QIE Division.
