HRD Cell Activities 

Human Resource Development activity in the ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering & Technology (ICAR-NINFET), Kolkata is carried out by encouraging the scientists as well as other staff members to undertake training, participate in seminars, conferences, symposia etc. The research and trainings are coordinated by the Human Resource Development (HRD) Cell of the Institute as per guidelines, which are in full conformity with that of the ICAR and are uniform across entire ICAR system. The scientists and other staffs are also encouraged to undertake subject specific trainings according to their area of research work and activity. Scientists/ Senior Staffs are also motivated to act as resource persons/instructors for providing trainings to the extension personnel from state departments, NGOs, SAUs and ICAR Institutes.

ICAR-NINFET offers opportunities for research and training to students at Post-graduate (PG) level. The research and trainings are coordinated by the Human Resource Development (HRD) Cell of the Institute as per guidelines.

ICAR-NINFET offers HRD research and training provides opportunities in the disciplines of  Textile Manufacture, Textile Chemistry, Agricultural Physics, Bio-chemistry, Organic Chemistry/ Agricultural Chemicals, Agricultural Microbiology, Farm Machinery and Power, Agricultural Structure & Process Engineering, Agricultural Economics,  Soil Science, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Food technology, Zoology, Botany and related disciplines covering various aspects of natural fibre extraction, utilization and value addition. The Institute can include other disciplines, if deemed appropriate.

Agreement with other Institutes: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) may be signed with other ICAR/ No-ICAR Institutes/ University/ Deemed -to-be-University (DU) seeking collaboration. The University/ DU may be within NARS or outside NARS.

M.Sc./ M.Tech. dissertation: The students registered for M.Sc. /M.Tech. or equivalent degree in recognized educational organizations are allowed to undertake research in two sessions i.e., during July-December (Session I) and January-June (Session II) every year, for which the applications are accepted during January to March and July to September, respectively as per the notification at ICAR-NINFET official website.

Doctoral programme: The students registered for doctoral degree in recognized educational organizations are allowed to undertake research in the institute.
