Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week from 27th October to 2nd November, 2020
ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology, Kolkata observed Vigilance Awareness Week from 27th October to 2nd November, 2020 with the theme- “Vigilant India, Prosperous India”. A series of activities like lectures, essay writing, debate and poster competition among were organised during the period to spread awareness among the staff members and their families.
The details of events organized are as under-
1. Essay writing competition of the staffs members of the Institute on 28th October, 2020.
Topic-“Role of preventive vigilance towards prosperity”(400 words) in English, Hindi or Bengali
2. Debate Competition of staff members of the Institute on 29st October, 2020
Topic- “Can India be corruption free?” in English, Hindi or Bengali language
3. Poster Competition of staff members of the Institute.
Topic: “Vigilant India, Prosperous India”. All the posters of the participants were displayed and evaluated on 31st October, 2020.
The event was concluded on 2nd November, 2020 by a valedictory programme. Dr Biplab Saha, Vigilance Officer presented the activities. Srimati Manjushree Mondal, Additional District and Session Judge, Howrah, West Bengal graced the chair as chief guest. She has enlightened the audience by his wonderful speech on vigilance in work place and rules of laws for nation’s progress towards prosperity. He has rightly mentioned that -preventive vigilance is the most important in the society and work place as old adage says,” Prevention is better than cure.” While corruption has become the global phenomenon affecting all strata of society, it is imperative that the public must be sensitised and motivated towards efforts at weeding out corruption from society. At the ending phase of the event, prize distribution to all the award winners for different competitions took place. The event was concluded by vote of thanks to the Chair.
